Height growth and site index curves for cherrybark oak and sweetgum in mixed, even-aged stands on the minor bottoms of central Mississippi

, : Height growth and site index curves for cherrybark oak and sweetgum in mixed, even-aged stands on the minor bottoms of central Mississippi. Southern Journal of Applied Forestry 11(4): 219-222

A combination of stem analysis and ht./age plot data procedures was used to construct ht. growth and site index curves for Quercus falcata var. pagodifolia and sweetgum. Ht. growth was initially greater in sweetgum; after 20-25 yr, the oak ht. increment exceeded that of the sweetgum and resulted in vertical canopy stratification.
