The importance and control of helminths in waterfowls are discussed from the literature and the authors' own experience at the Hellabrunn Zoo, Munich, GFR. Trematode, cestode, nematode and acanthocephalan infections are listed with their localization, type of development and intermediate hosts, and principal pathology. The diagnosis and chemotherapy are also described and anthelmintics suitable for the different helminth groups are listed with dosages.
