In studies during 1982-83 and 1984-85 all herbicides (applied one day after sowing except for fluchloralin which was applied 24 h before sowing) significantly reduced the weed population over the unweeded control. Metribuzin at 0.25 kg/ha, oxadiazon at 1.0 kg/ha or pendimethalin at 1.0 or 1.5 kg/ha gave over 90% weed control during both years. Methabenzthiazuron was best for controlling Coronopodium spp., and oxadiazon and pendimethalin were best for controlling Coronopus spp.
