In vitro callus formation and shoot formation responses of jujube as affected by growth regulators and levels of inorganic nutrients

Nodal segments each with a bud of jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill. prepared from subcultured explants, were cultured in vitro on basal MS medium supplemented with growth regulators and inorganic nutrients. Callus formation was greatest on half-strength MS with 0.5 mg/litre 2,4-D but was also good on full-strength MS with 0.5 mg/litre 2,4-D, 0.5 mg/litre picloram, 1.0 mg/litre BA or 0.5 to 1.0 mg/litre 2iP.
