Indirect measurement of blood pressure: studies in the colic horse

For indirect measurements of blood pressure in the tail arteries of 32 healthy horses of both sexes, aged 3-19 years, a fully automatic oscillometer fitted with a cuff 8.4 cm wide and 17 cm long was used. The average values of 335 measurements were calculated as 120.33 mm Hg for the systolic, 75.81 mm Hg for the intermediate and 49.78 mm Hg for the diastolic pressure.
