Inheritance of content and pattern of glucosinolates in combinations of resynthesized rapeseed X rapeseed cultivars

The high-glucosinolate swede rapes G50, resynthesized from kohl rabi and turnip rape, and G49, resynthesized from Savoy cabbage and turnip rape, were crossed with the natural swede rapes Bronowski, low in glucosinolates, and Emerald, very high in glucosinolates. On the basis of gas chromatography analysis of 5 alkenyl glucosinolates in the seeds of F1 and F2 plants, the following hypothesis is put forward. The absence of sinigrin (present only in Emerald) is controlled by 3 dominant genes.
