Inheritance of resistance to Peronosclerospora sorghi (Weston & Uppal) C.G. Shaw of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench)

Inheritance of resistance was studied by evaluating local lesions on the inoculated 2nd leaf in 13 lines and 1 cultivar, their F1, F2 and backcrosses. The resistant lines OKY 55, WDY 18, Tx 623, Tx 624 and Tx 430 and Brandes had at least 1 major resistance gene, Tx 430 having at least 2 dominant or partially dominant resistance genes, depending on the genetic background. The resistance genes were not identical in all cases.
