Inheritance of seed coat colour in yellow seed turnip rapes
F1, F2, BC1 and BC2 crosses between the Indian Brassica campestris yellow sarson variety DYS1 (high erucic acid content) and the Canadian variety Candle (no erucic acid) showed that testa colour is controlled by 2 genes and recessive epistasis. Candle has pale yellow seeds tinged brown (yy BrBr) and DYS1 has creamish-yellow seeds (Yy brbr), y being epistatic and masking the effect of Br.
