Inhibition of diamine oxidase of rat small intestine by pentamidine and berenil (diminazene aceturate)

Biochemical Pharmacology 36(17): 2863-2864

Inhibition of diamine oxidase of rat small intestine by pentamidine and berenil (diminazene aceturate)

Diminazene aceturate and pentamidine appeared to be potent inhibitors of diamine oxidase (purified from rat intestine). Both were non-competitive inhibitors of the enzyme with Ki values of 3.8 micro M and 0.4 micro M respectively.
