In tests of a large collection of forms during 1981-84, appreciable genetic variation in protein content was found. The highest mean values for protein content were shown by Boby Maslichnye (K532) and Zelenaya Maslichnaya (K504) from China, Amurskaya 398 from the Soviet Far East and S113/1968 from Romania. Some forms showed a consistently high protein content over several years.
