Low frequency transmission of Les1 wt1 gametes

Low frequency transmission of Les1 wt1 gametes

Maize Genetics Cooperation Newsletter (61): 95-96

In crosses involving the maize line W23 and the Les1 (necrotic lesion) wt1 (white-tipped leaves) chromosome, plants carrying wt1 were significantly underrepresented in the progeny. When the line Mo20W carrying Les1 wt1 was selfed, however, wt1 was transmitted normally.
