Model for determining drying stresses during kiln drying of lumber

A model for calculation of one-dimensional stress distribution in drying lumber is presented that is designed to estimate the development of internal drying stresses (which are not directly measurable) and to derive parameters for regulating kiln drying. The model accounts for the elastic/plastic and rheological properties of wood to grain.
