Nutrient uptake of corn grown using moldboard plow or no-tillage soil management

Corn growth and nutrient uptake were monitored for two years under no-tillage and conventional tillage. Two rates of applied N were imposed. The crop was sampled at about 60 days and at maturity. Grain yields were generally increased by higher N and by tillage reduction. P, Ca and Mg uptake were generally unaffected. N uptake was lowered by no-till at 84 kg N/ha but not at 168 kg N.
