Incidence of a bacterial disease of coriander was unusually high in W. Slovakia in 1984, 50-90% of the plants were infected. At flowering, petals, whole flowers and inflorescences began to turn brown and wilt. Watery lesions were observed on unripe fruits. Many fruit clusters turned brown and were deformed. Tips and margins of leaves, sometimes entire leaf blades, turned brown or purple, dried and rolled. The bacterium isolated was identified as Pseudomonas viridiflava.
