Persistence of fluvalinate on cotton plant and translocation of its residues into seed

Pesticides (Bombay) 20(6): 17-19

Persistence of fluvalinate on cotton plant and translocation of its residues into seed

Residues of fluvalinate were studied on cotton plant applied 3-4 times at 50-100 g ai/ha. The residues were found to be accumulated on leaves when 11 days intervals were followed. The half life on leaves was calculated to be 3 days at 50 g ai/ha and 3-4 days at 100 g ai/ha rate of application. The residues on lint varied from 0.20 to 1.15 ppm applied at 50-100 g ai/ha. In cotton seed the residues were non-detectable when applied at 50 and 60 g ai/ha. However, some residues were detected at 100 g ai/ha rate of application and when 4 sprays were made, but there were below the prescribed tolerance limit of 0.20 ppm.
