Pharmacological research on the nutritive value of Costom, a collagen product, for hypotrepsic (undeveloped) animals in industrial rearing units

, : Pharmacological research on the nutritive value of Costom, a collagen product, for hypotrepsic (undeveloped) animals in industrial rearing units. Medicamentul Veterinar (4): 15-22

Hypotrepsic chicks given a ration low in protein (10-11%) supplemented with 3% Costom as a source of protein, had a liveweight gain over 50 days 10.8% higher than control chicks just given the low protein diet. Feed consumption per unit gain was 17.78% lower than in controls. Ca and P balance and bone Ca and P were not significantly affected by Costom.
