In a study in the Philippines of 10 varieties, regression analysis of their chemical composition suggested that Ca, Mg, K, nicotine and reducing sugars were each involved in determining the duration of yellowing of each variety, but the small coefficient of determination (R2) suggested that none singly was responsible for yellowing.
