Preliminary study on the histopathology of inbred lines of maize differing in resistance to northern leaf blight

Preliminary study on the histopathology of inbred lines of maize differing in resistance to northern leaf blight

Scientia Agricultura Sinica (4): 40-44

The process of infection after inoculation in the glasshouse is described for B37, susceptible to Helminthosporium turcicum B37Ht1, with the resistance gene Ht1 (which produces chlorotic lesions), and B37HtN, HZ1216 and HZ1238, with the resistance gene HtN (without lesions). Spore germ tuber penetrated all lines and grew into vascular bundles about 2-3 days after inoculation.
