Suomen Elainlaakarilehti 93(10): 496, 498-499, 502-503, 505

Farm milk in Finland is tested in 60 municipal milk inspection laboratories and graded into Classes A, B, C and D on the basis of cell count (<500 000, 500 000-1 000 000, 1 000 000-2 000 000, >2 000 000/ml) and bacterial count (<50 000, 50 000-500 000, 500 000-2 500 000, >2 500 000/ml). In 1986, 83.7% of milk was Class A for cell count and 74.0% (vs. 41.5% in 1975) was Class A for bacterial count.
