Quantitative distribution of monoterpenes in different parts of a 19-year-old Larix decidua tree

Phyton, Austria 27(2): 289-298

Quantitative distribution of monoterpenes in different parts of a 19-year-old Larix decidua tree

Monoterpene composition of a tree felled in a botanical garden near Munich was studied in crown, branch, stem and root fractions; bark and wood were analysed separately, except for branch material. The 3 most important components, i.e. alpha -pinene, beta -pinene, and beta -phellandrene, occurred in different amounts (as % of total monoterpenes) in the various fractions.
