In 1985 rabies was reported in 1487 raccoons, 830 bats, 2507 skunks and 503 domestic animals in USA, 1730 wild animals and 610 domestic animals in Canada and in 10 036 dogs, 463 other domestic animals, 72 bats and 76 rats in Mexico. There were 78 human cases of rabies reported; 76 in Mexico, one in USA and one in Canada.
