Rearing broilers at different stocking densities and lengths of fattening. Basic productive characteristics

, : Rearing broilers at different stocking densities and lengths of fattening. Basic productive characteristics. Zhivotnov"dni Nauki 24(1): 20-25

Broiler chickens in 4 groups were reared on litter at stocking densities of 22, 20, 18 and 16/msuperscript 2 for 6, 7 or 8 weeks on the same mixed feed. Stocking density did not affect productive indices to 7 weeks old. Growth rate decreased with increasing stocking density in chickens fattened to 8 weeks old. Feed intake/kg gain and carcass indices were not affected at 6, 7 or 8 weeks old by stocking density.
