Relationships between varietal differences in salt tolerance and characteristics of sodium absorption and translocation in rice. 1



Japanese Journal of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition 58(5): 591-594



A total of 40 varieties in 3 groups grown in solution containing 80 or 120 mM NaCl showed associations between differences in varietal tolerance and Na absorption and translocation. There was a positive correlation between Na content of the aerial parts and Na translocation percentage and a close negative correlation at 80 mM between aerial growth and Na content of the aerial parts.
