No differences were found among five cultivars of barley (Hordeum vulgare) grown at 27 sites in central Alberta, Canada, in the relationships between soil chemical properties and crop concentrations or uptake of macro and micro nutrient cations. Soil pH was significantly correlated with both the concentration and yield of most of the cations in the grain of all cultivars, with no differences between cultivars.
