Response of Pensacola bahiagrass (Paspalum notatum Flugge) to fertilizer nitrogen on an Entisol and a Spodosol in north Florida

In experiments in 1979-83 near Williston (Entisol) and near Gainesville (Spodosol), P. notatum Pensacola was given 0-400 kg N/ha in split applications in Mar. and after 2nd cut in June. Four cuts were taken each year. Highest DM yield was achieved at Gainesville (>5 t DM/ha) from the 3rd cut with 300-400 kg N/ha compared with a max. DM yield at Williston of 4 t/ha from the 3rd cut at the same N rate.
