Response of rainfed wetland rice to level, method, and timing of azolla application

Response of rainfed wetland rice to level, method, and timing of azolla application

International Rice Research Newsletter 11(6): 29

In field trials in 1983, 0-30 t Azolla/ha was surface-applied or incorporated into plots for rice IR36. Azolla increased plant height, tiller number per hill and 1000-grain wt, and decreased straw FW; mean grain yield was 6.2, 6.8, 7.0 and 6.5 t/ha with 0, 10, 20 and 30 t Azolla/ha, resp. Mean yields were 6.5 and 6.8 t/ha when Azolla was surface-applied and incorporated, resp.
