Under an intensive management system on the plain, 88 Karagouniko ewes were divided into 2 groups and inseminated with Karagouniko and Cher Berrichon semen resp., after flushing and oestrus synchronization. In purebred and crossbred lambs resp., gestation length averaged 151.3 and 149.2 days for singles, (P<0.001), and 149.7 and 148.5 days for twins (P<0.01).
