Revolutionary row crop head

Revolutionary row crop head

Farm Show, USA 11(3): 1-2

A reelless row crop header is described which uses V-belt-mounted brushes in place of gathering chains and replaces the cutter bar with notched cutting discs. The 2 self-sharpening discs for each row overlap each other by several inches. One disc rotates at twice the speed of the other which serves to draw the crop in towards the notched, bevelled cutting edge. The height of the cutting discs can be varied from 1 inch below ground to 4 inches above.
