Serological characterization of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae strains and proposal of a new serotype: serotype 12



Acta Veterinaria Scandinavica 27(3): 453-455



13 strains of A. pleuropneumoniae isolated from 9 outbreaks of pneumonia in Danish pigs possessed two capsular type-specific antigenic determinants and common species-specific antigens. All the strains were antigenically homogeneous and serologically distinct from serotypes 1-11.
