Simulation of soil carbon cycling following clear cutting in a Japanese red pine forest

A model previously suggested was used with published data collected before and after felling in a Pinus densiflora stand near Hiroshima to simulate changes for 150 yr after felling. Results indicated that the accumulation of the A0 layer decreases rapidly and reaches a min. in about 10 yr but recovers to the pre-felling value after about 30-40 yr.
