Simulation of soil water balance and dry matter production of oats

Oats were grown for four years on parabraunerde. The model developed described plant water uptake rate as a function of soil matric potential. Soil physical parameters were measured and daily climatological and canopy data recorded. Results indicate that the simulated properties compare favourably with measurements.
