The effects of 3 sowing dates, N application at the start of vegetative growth, at stem elongation or split between those 2 stages and of Camposan applied at Feekes stage 6-8 on the grain yield and yield components of winter rye Janos were investigated at Hohenfinow in 1981-85. Grain yield and number of ears/msuperscript 2 varied somewhat between years, but tended to decrease with delay in sowing in the interval 22 Sep.-21 Oct.
