Socio-economic factors associated with fuel consumption in rural areas (vill. Karaundi)

Indian Forester 112(9): 753-761

A survey of fuel consumption in all 294 families in the village of Karaundi in 1984. Of these, 47 families were dependent on firewood and brushwood, while 247 families also used other fuels such as agricultural waste, dung cake, kerosene and liquid petroleum. In these 2 categories, total and per capita fuel consumption were examined in relation to family size, income and land and cattle ownership.
