An evaluation of the feasibility of fallow deer farming for meat production was begun at 2 experiment stations in Bavaria in autumn 1975. The published results of these experiments are summarised. Based on 81 animals slaughtered at 15 months of age, slaughter weight averaged 44.24 kg, dressing percentage 58.6 and percentage of valuable cuts (including the shoulder) 71.
