In field experiments soyabeans CO 1, grown with Pennisetum typhoides or groundnuts, yielded 0.65 and 0.5 t seeds/ha, resp., without reducing yield of the cover crop. Intercropping of soyabeans with coconuts, bananas or sugarcane produced seed yields of 0.75, 0.8 and 0.75 t/ha, resp.
