Of >600 wheat (representing cultivated and wild species) and 40 triticale genotypes evaluated in the greenhouse, none was resistant or tolerant to F. culmorum foot rot, though differences in degree of susceptibility were marked. Similar results were obtained in the field, where F. culmorum infection varied between years and caused slight lodging as well as foot rot. In 15 years' testing, no resistance or tolerance to F. culmorum head blight was found in wheat, triticale or Aegilops.
