Studies on 5 grape cultivars showed that they all started to develop dormancy in early Sep. In Schuyler, Delaware and Muscat Bailey A the dormancy deepened in Oct./Nov. after which they recovered. Maximum dormancy was observed in Nov./Dec. for Golden Muscat and in Dec./Jan. for Golden Queen, both recovering in Feb. Dormancy was broken most effectively by hot air treatment (45 degrees C) for 6 h although keeping at 0 degrees for 2-3 months was also effective.
