Studies on relative resistance of horsegram varieties, (Dolichos biflorus Linn.) to pulse beetle, (Callosobruchus chinensis Linn.)

Of 50 varieties of D. biflorus (Macrotyloma uniflorum) tested for seed damage under natural storage conditions, 15 promising varieties were further screened for resistance on the basis of seed damage, percentage seed weight loss, number of adults emerging and amount of food consumed per mature larva. HPK6 was the least susceptible.
