Studies on the inheritance of quantitative characters in rice. 7. Analysis of days to heading in the F1 and F2 generations of a diallel cross

In 36 F1s and F2s derived from a diallel cross of 9 varieties, general combining ability was more important than specific combining ability for days from sowing to heading. Overdominance effects for late heading were noted in the F1s and incomplete dominance in the F2s. Additive effects were significant in the F1s, while nonadditive effects were predominant in the F2s.
