Studies on the rules of growth-development and its application in spring barley (Hordeum sativum). II. On the changing rules of main carbohydrates and nitrogenous compounds and the accumulative and transportative rules of nitrogen

Acta Agriculturae Universitatis Pekinensis 13(1): 9-18

In field-grown malting barley 76-22 and feed barley Ai-Gan-Qi in 1983-84, sugars soluble in 80% alcohol were the main carbohydrates used for formation of new organs. Amino acid, total N and polysaccharide contents were affected by the age of individual plant parts, but those of nitrates and alcohol-soluble sugars varied with the age of the plant parts and the growth stage of the whole plant.
