Study of photosynthetic rate in maize in relation to heterosis

Study of photosynthetic rate in maize in relation to heterosis

Fiziologiya na Rasteniyata 13(1): 29-33

In a comparison of 3 inbred lines and 5 interline hybrids derived from them, the degree of heterosis for photosynthetic rate was high in hybrids between lines which differed genetically inter se to a considerable extent, but relatively low in hybrids between lines which were genetically close. Heterosis for photosynthesis and yield was low in the hybrid between Oh43 and its induced mutant KhM532, but high in A632 X KhM532.
