The female sex pheromone gland of the lymantriid Porthesia taiwana [Euproctis taiwana] is described. The gland is modified from the intersegmental membrane between the 8th and 9th abdominal segments. The glandular epithelium consists of global cells and the gland belongs to the dorsal fold. The cuticle of the gland is thicker than the rest of the intersegmental membrane.
