Summaries of consumption effects of agricultural policies in selected African countries







A technical report for nutrition program analysts and agricultural policy makers provides separate summaries of the results of studies, carried out during 1981-83, to assess the effects of agricultural policy on food consumption conducted for 5 African countries, viz.: Cameroon, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, and Tanzania. Topics covered in each summary include: the policy focus of the study; the policy environment in the country at the time the study was conducted; policy impacts identified by the study, including consumption impacts; experiences in collaborating with host country institutions and individuals; dissemination of the study results and reactions to the study findings; and the data sources and analytical methods employed.
