The agricultural land market of the 1970s and early 1980s was characterized in the GFR, dynamic price fluctuations. The past decade has seen prices rise then fall. Analysis of the Lander states indicates significant differences in land price levels and land transfers between farmers. This study uses the framework of a regression model, and more particularly employs ordinary least squares estimates to determine changes in land prices and their causes in the federal states.
