The genetic nature of plant height in new sources of short straw among tetraploid wheats

A study of crosses between a short Triticum dicoccum form (K25459) from Yemen and a very short T. durum hybrid designated VIR1, and of crosses of these with T. durum varieties Khar'kovskaya 46 (tall) and Quilafen (short), revealed that shortness was controlled by non-allelic recessive genes in K25459 and VIR1, which differed from Khar'kovskaya 46 in the alleles of one and 3 height-controlling genes, respectively.
