The high effect and low cost of a three unit compound fertilizer containing potassium, sulphur, phosphorus and ammonium

In trials in 1979-80, application of FYM with separate N, P and K fertilizers was compared with FYM with 60 jin/mu of a compound fertilizer containing NPK and S. With rice the compound fertilizer gave more effective ears/unit area than the separate fertilizers or the control with FYM only. In barley the number of effective ears was increased and also the 1000-grain wt.
