The intrinsic rate of natural increase of the cabbage aphid, Brevicoryne brassicae (Linn.) (Homoptera: Aphididae) on cauliflower

The intrinsic rate of natural increase of the cabbage aphid, Brevicoryne brassicae (Linn.) (Homoptera: Aphididae) on cauliflower

Entomon 131: 51-55

Life and fertility tables were constructed for Brevicoryne brassicae in the laboratory at 14-21.0 degrees C on 6-7-week-old cauliflower plants. The maximum longevity was 33 days and the maximum period of reproduction 15 days. The maximum average production of progeny was 5.75 nymphs/female per day on the 22nd and 25th days of life. The species had a generation time of 21.711 days during which it multiplied 49.80 times.
