The manufacture of multipurpose artificial combs

The manufacture of multipurpose artificial combs

Proceedings of the XXXth International Congress of Apiculture, Nagoya, 1985: 297-301

The author describes his design of an artificial comb made from cylindrical propylene tubing in cut lengths fused together to make blocks that can be sliced to form "comb walls". These walls are the basic structures for various items which are described e.g. comb walls can be screwed to a "comb base" (of a different material) to form a complete comb. Bees did not readily accept these structures unless they were coated with beeswax.
