Thinning intensity

Thinning intensity

Las Polski (5): 6-7

In the last of 3 papers on thinning, thinning frequency and thinning interval are analysed. First thinning starts at 6-10 m av. ht. for Scots pine in Poland depending on site class with thinning interval 3-6 yr or 1-3 m ht. A table is given of thinning ages for stands of site class Ia-IV based on a rotation of approx. 100-110 yr: first thinning is at 18-40 yr old with final thinning at 80-85 yr old.
