Thinnings in young beech/fir stands

Thinnings in young beech/fir stands

Lesnoe Khozyaistvo (2): 25-27

Data are presented on the structure of young stands developing on logged areas of beech and beech/fir forests in the Northern Caucasus. Various intensities of thinning were applied to improve the composition of the stands by removing hornbeam, aspen etc. so as to favour the fir.
